Giorgia Picano, originally from Formia, a small town in southern Italy, discovered her love for dance at the age of 4 when she began taking ballet classes at the "Centro Art Studio," under the artistic direction of Maria Rita Tuccinardi. Taking part in various workshops with worldwide renowned instructors, she discovered the world of modern and contemporary dance and she earned scholarships, including one with the "Atzewi Dance Company". She then decided to study jazz dance, and immediately fall in love with it. After a successful audition, she joined the AEDJ Group, a jazz dance company directed by Serge Alzetta and Genevieve Blanchard with which she toured throughout Italy from 2015 to 2019. In 2017, she relocated to Nice, where she studied at the "Ecole Superieure de Danse Serge Alzetta" and simultaneously danced with the professional jazz company "Cie Ballet Serge Alzetta," under the artistic direction of Serge Alzetta and Genevieve Blanchard. She toured throughout France with the company until 2019 and continues to collaborate with them to this day. In 2019, Giorgia moved to New York with the scholarship program at The Ailey School, from which she graduated in 2022. During her time there, she had the opportunity to dance with the Ailey Student Performing Group, showcasing choreographies by Jessica Castro, Patrick Coker, Hollie Wright, Amy Hall Garner, and excerpts from Alvin Ailey's repertoire. Currently, Giorgia is actively involved in the dance scene in New York, performing with companies such as Incanto Productions, Hanna Q Dance Company, Benjamin Briones Ballet, and The Modern Dance Awareness Society.
